Aloha, Y’all! My name is Jennifer Mcmeekin Mathy and I live on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawai’i. I was born and raised in Texas, where I lived in Corpus Christi & College Station(WHOOP).

I was raised on the coast of Texas so I don’t have the sweet southern accent but I do have the sweet southern charm(ask my friends how much I love to host & cook). I met my husband in College Station, TX almost 4 years ago and instantly knew he was the ONE. Side note, he was wearing a banana costume and spilled a beer in my lap. Not much has changed lol.Since then, my life has been one big adventure. After College, my husband commissioned into the U.S. Army and that’s where our story begins.

We’ve lived in Texas, Georgia, and now Hawai’i. The best part of our relationship is that we’re both determined to make the most out of life no matter where we live. We have been living our best lives in Hawai’i spending weekends exploring the islands and traveling to countries near us. I’m currently a student at University of Hawai’i studying nutrition. In my spare time you can usually find me diving through underwater sea caves, beach bumming, hiking up a mountain, drinking champagne, sipping on coffee(always), or looking for the next adventure. I’m a dreamer who always has travel on my mind.

Traveling is what sparked my interest in blogging. I started reading blogs when I planned our vacation to Australia last year. I realized how BIG Australia is & how little I knew about the country. I started getting tips and tricks from fellow travelers and making note of their favorite spots. (Especially the coffee bars. Ugh, the best ever. You will never find a better coffee bar than in Australia.)

Since then, I’ve used bloggers advice while traveling around Thailand, New Zealand, and Europe. I’ve wanted to start my own blog for a while now but I was stumped on the name I wanted to represent my website.(I know, sounds silly but I just wanted something original that no one else had). I’ve asked one of my best friends who is a fellow blogger(the closet mermaid) only a million questions about different name ideas & how to get started(also sent out many texts to my girls asking them for opinions on the names I had narrowed it down to). They are sweethearts for always listening to me ramble on about ideas(bless them)!

One of my favorite nights spent (drunkenly) discussing blog names was in Sorrento, Italy at the cutest bar I’ve ever been to with one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met in my life. Fun fact, I asked my husbands best friends wife(that’s a lot of confusing words) whom I had never met to meet me on vacation(with my husbands family & not my husband) while we were in Italy. My husband was going to be working and unable to travel with us & his best friend, Christopher, lives in Germany with his wife, Victoria. So I thought it would be fun to invite a gal pal to explore the Amalfi Coast with me. Has anyone else ever invited someone they have never met on vacation? Well, I have and I’m SO glad I did because She is the sweetest girl I’ve ever met & we spent the week laughing, drinking, & eating our way around the Amalfi Coast.

What I’m really trying to say, through all the rambling, is that I want to write about my favorite things in life. Love, TRAVEL, friendship, happy hours, coffee shops, adventures, & more happy hours. Some of my favorite things I’ve experienced on vacation have been partially found on my own & often found through fellow bloggers. I’m hoping to help out the next person looking for a good spot to sip a drink or two or gets lost in adventure. I’m SO excited to get started!

Florence, Italy- I walked around town all day juggling a cup of proseco, the best sandwich I’ve ever had(I’ll give details later), & a bag full of clothes.oops. Can I go back tomorrow?

My husband and I at Milford Sound in New Zealand. This place is truly a dream! New Zealand left me wanting to immediately return because it’s so beautiful!Thailand girls trip 2018. We walked up a big flight of stairs in the blazing heat to get this incredible view overlooking Phi Phi Island. This was the girls trip of a lifetime & I’m so thankful to have traveled to another country with this girl gang. We spent 11 days eating all the Thai food(ugh so YUM), island hopping, temple hopping, swimming, & LAUGHING our way around Thailand!

My husband and I were so lucky to have a dream wedding in Hawai’i!! The real dream is getting to be this handsome studs wife! (Wedding photographer- Kai photo- they did an amazing job!)

Our anniversary shoot at my favorite hike on Oahu! This was my first hike my friend Samantha took me on when I first moved to the island. Sam was my first friend on the island and this was my first hike. Little did I know that both Sam and this hike would become some of my favorites! This view still gives me butterflies when I’m standing on top of this mountain! It’s a short and sweet climb to the first lookout point with the most rewarding views & the bluest water! My amazingly talented friend Teresa Carmella Meadows took these photos. Go check out her blog and photo gallery to see more of her amazing work! (
